I finally did it you guys…
I went to hot yoga last night.
Holy shite, it was fucking hot. Mind you, I live smack dab in the middle of a desert that reaches 118 regularly during the summer, and I paid money to go into a room that was 105 degrees and get my sweat on. What I did not realize was that was I was also walking into 40% humidity. That really should be in bold print on the website. Also, that 40% humidity is at the START of the class, I truly believe that it got more humid once the 15 of us started dripping pouring shooting sweat out of our pores.
I knew I was in trouble when the instructor informed me that for new comers the goal of the class is not to do every pose perfectly, but to just stay in the room for the entire 90 minutes. Honestly, about half way through the class staying in the room became a challenge. Not so much because I felt like I was going to die or anything, but because the door was RIGHT there. I kept looking at it, and the more I looked at the door it sort of started pulsating and shimmering like there was a very awesome normal room temperature party happening behind it.
I did not do every pose, and I kept falling out of position in the balancing poses, BUT I stayed in the room AND I did my best. Does anyone else realize exactly how out of shape they are when they exercise? I usually just want to give up since I become aware of how doughy I have become. Not last night though.
Did I mention that my groupon for these classes expires next Wednesday? So, of course I am going back tonight.
I will just be sitting here drinking ALL the water to prepare.
