Weekend Wrap Up: I don’t have a clever name here.
So, I purposely didn’t mention it until now, but Friday was the first time that we spent and entire night away from the babies. We are planning on going to Las Vegas for 3 nights at the end of this month and thought that it would be wise to have a trial run to make sure that I would not freak out and make us drive 5 hours to come home without even spending one night.
We went to dinner with some friends, sat through some of a concert, got dessert and drinks, then stayed in a hotel room. Now, how do I say this without it being taken the wrong way? I did not miss the twins at all! Ok, that is an exaggeration. I did check on them 2 times though out the evening… what I mean to say is, I did not miss the twins at all once it was time to go to bed.
1st of all, Chad and I were able to boom boom. We NEVER get to do that. Like, NEVER. You don’t really get it until you have 2 babies that don’t sleep. Ever. So, yeah, that was nice. Then, I went to sleep laying in whatever position that I found comfortable. It was awesome. I woke up once at 4:30 am and was PISSED, went back to sleep, then woke up at 8:00 am. Then BAM it hit me. I wanted to be home with the twins instantly. I don’t think that we have ever checked out of a hotel room so fast, because as soon as I was awake I had all the separation anxiety that I had expected to have though out the entire night.
We got home just as the twins were waking up and I snuggled and nursed them the entire day. Oh, did I mention that the sitters (there were 2) informed me that each baby only woke up one time? Seriously, what am I doing wrong here? It has to be something that we/I am doing that is making this sleep situation so difficult. Help me! Help me! Help!
The rest of the weekend flew by! We had lunch with my oldest friend and her family at Islands (I have a love of chain restaurants), got cupcakes, watched The Lorax, and I drank beer. Saturday is cheat day on our diet. Sunday Patience took a nap with her daddy while Cash and I went to Target and stocked up on all the crapola we need to stock up on.
It was a nice weekend.
