Yay it is Friday!!!
My sweet twins slept pretty well last night, but then again pretty much ANYTHING is an improvement over the way things were going.
Both babies knocked out at 8:15, which is 45 minutes early that I would like. Then they both woke up at 9. Which is what always happens… but the husband and I remained firm and presented a united front (totally new). We kept the babes in their cribs with very minimal stimulation. There were lots of back rubs, shushing, rocking, a little nursing, and a lot of crying. Patience was back asleep around 9:20, but Cash managed to hold out until almost 10 before he fell back asleep.
Oh, I forgot to mention that we have been putting Cash to bed in his crib in the baby bedroom upstairs, and Patience to sleep in her crib in our room downstairs. Our house isn’t as big as it sounds what with an upstairs and downstairs though, and the sound carries, so I do think that Patience got woken up by Cash crying last night. Seriously, we don’t even use monitors because you can pretty much hear everything from any room of the house. Either way though, they aren’t waking each other up as often from little sighs and such.
Patience woke up around 4 am (I think) to nurse and was back in her crib at 4:45! I could have so easily just stayed in bed with her to snuggle, but I was strong. When she woke up at 7 I brought her into bed and snuggled her for an hour while she nursed and dozed off and on. I heard Cash wake up upstairs at 4:30, Chad slept in the guest room so that we each had one baby to take care of. After Cash had a bottle he went back to sleep until 8 am.
This is amazing!
Problem is. I CAN’T FUCKING SLEEP. It feels like a form of PTSD where I get massive anxiety about going to bed because the twins are going to wake up the second I close my eyes. I am hoping that this goes away very soon, if it does I think it is totally possible to get a decent block of sleep and then be able to wake up BEFORE the twins and get ready for work.
I have a very busy weekend coming up! We are going to Disneyland (again) on Sunday and Monday to celebrate my oldest friend’s daughter’s birthday! We go every single year, I didn’t miss it when I was pregnant and I am not going to miss it now!!! Sleep be damned! Not really though, I love sleep and miss it.
Also, if you are entered in my give away chances are in your favor! There are 12 entries and only 7 people!!! Who is starting to feel lucky?
