This is the final installment of my cruise updates:
Sea Day! This is the day when we were just at sea the whole time, and I had booked the twins in the nursery for the afternoon in advance. We got up in the morning and went to Cabanas for a casual buffet style breakfast. It was pretty good, even if it was the only buffet breakfast I have ever been to where I didn’t drink half my weight in mimosas.
Then we zipped back down to our room, got everyone in swimsuits, and right back to the same deck as the buffet to play in Nemo’s Reef! I have a million pictures of this but I will spare you the majority of them. Patience was a little nervous for about half a second before she was like “OMG MOM THIS IS THE COOLEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!” Cash was much much much more nervous and stuck to us like white on rice for about 45 minutes before he even splashed one splash, but he eventually had some fun!
We dropped the kids off in the nursery around 1:30, then Chad and I split up to do our own things. He watched Iron Man 3 3D in one of the onboard movie theaters, and I went to the adult only pool and got a neck/shoulder massage before laying out, drinking 2 pina coladas, and reading an old Odd Thomas book. Once the movie was done Chad found me and we went to the spa for a couples massage. The spa was beautiful and the rooms have beautiful views. The massages were pretty awful and definitely not worth the price, but that is just our opinion. Then we went and picked up the kids so we could all get ready for our last dinner on the boat.
We learned also, that you have to have all our luggage out by 10:30 pm the night before disembarkation in order to not have to take it off the boat and through customs yourselves. Holy crap hahaha it was like a clothes flurry in our room while we were just randomly chucking stuff into bags. Luckily about 3 people reminded us to not pack clothes/toiletries for the next day, or else that could have gotten awkward. Here is the other thing we learned: Breakfast is firmly at 8 am and you must be OFF the boat by 9 am. Haha so that was a little nuts for us since we are a slow starting family but it all worked out ok.
In summation: We had so much fun on this trip that after talking to my mom we decided to take another, longer, cruise at the end of September. My mom is going to go with us too! Yay! We are going to be really tight financially to make it work but it is totally worth doing it again now because once they are 2 years old we will have to buy 4 plane tickets instead of 2.
I am so excited!
